The Astrology Of 2026

The most important transits of 2026

For better and worse, 2025 was just a preview of the astrology of 2026.

As we enter a new year we begin a new astrological era – there’s an emphasis on Fire and Air signs. We’re moving into a time of fast paced ideas, bold courage, communication, connection, and action driven from passion.

New areas of your chart become activated, and certain themes that came up for you in 2025 now develop further in 2026.

We have multiple transits that mark 2026 as a new era. All the outer planets are in new signs, and of course a very important conjunction that marks a major reset.

Neptune enters Aries

Neptune already spent 5 months in Aries during 2025 so we’re a bit familiar with the energy. Neptune re-enters Aries for good on January 27 2026 where it stays until 2039! Neptune in Aries can make it feel confusing or challenging in understanding your personal direction and purpose. You’ll be pushed to take intuitive leaps and act on your inner visions.

The Aries house of your chart is also where you might crave a deeper emotional connection and where you seek a more meaningful, empowered, or creative purpose.

Saturn enters Aries

After years in Pisces Saturn re-enters Aries on February 14 and stays there until 2028. We had a 3 month preview of Saturn in Aries in 2025 and now Saturn returns to the Aries house of your chart to demand structure, responsibility, and mastery.

Saturn likes to take it’s time and plan for the long-term, while Aries likes to rush ahead and act now. A bit of a polarity there! This transit will encourages you to have patience towards your goals, take calculated risks, and accept that real results take time.

The Saturn Neptune Conjunction

One of the biggest and most important transits of 2026 will be when Saturn and Neptune meet in the sky at 0º of Aries - the first degree of the entire Zodiac. This will take place on February 21, and only happens every 36 years, but we’ve not seen it in Aries.

The conjunction will be a profound time of change, signifying a collective re-set. It marks a generational turning point in societal norms, politics, and personal beliefs. 0º of Aries is a point of initiation and new cycles. It signals a powerful new beginning for all of us, or the world. It won’t be an instant change for society — it just marks the start of a new direction for the world.

And for you personally? Your Aries-ruled house gets a major restart. What themes is that for you?

Uranus (re)enters Gemini

On April 26 Uranus begins a 7 year visit through the Gemini-ruled house of your chart. You might have got a glimpse of how Uranus in Gemini will influence you when it dipped into Gemini for 4 months of 2025. Now, it really begins.

Uranus and Gemini bring similar energies. Together, they deliver insight, ideas and progress at the speed of light. This can make our nervous systems fried, and we can feel restless as try to keep up or adapt to all the sudden changes.

Unexpected changes are a normal part of a Uranus transit and the Gemini house of your chart may undergo a disruptive period of innovation and surprises where you begin to crave more freedom. You might feel restless when it comes to the themes of this area of your chart.

But Uranus in Gemini will ask you to find new and innovative ways to connect, learn, and share ideas to create a new way forward. This is a transit that will change communication platforms, AI and technology, and the ways in which we all connect with one another.

Jupiter enters Leo

Jupiter will spend the first half of 2026 in Cancer before moving into Leo on June 30. In Cancer Jupiter will continue to influence your personal growth and present new opportunities in your Cancer-ruled house. And when Jupiter enters Leo it brings major growth to your confidence and self-expression.

Here Jupiter will encourage you to express yourself more confidently, engage in life more fully, have fun, and be generous. It highlights the development of your hobbies or creative interests. Your Leo-ruled house will come into focus from July onward and new opportunities may arise in this area of life. You’ll be called to stand behind your dreams and step into leadership.

Nodal Axis Shift

The Lunar Nodes move into a new pair of signs in July 2026. They enter Aquarius and Leo for an 18 month stay. Endings and new beginnings occur in those houses for you, and you’ll be striking to find more of a balance across those 2 opposing houses.

Creativity and community will be the main themes to explore within the houses they activates for you. Leo is about itself, and Aquarius is about the collective.

With the North Node in Aquarius it will also be activating the transit of Pluto in Aquarius. Your Aquarius house will really be where you’re feeling a sense of transformation, healing, and deeper alignment.

The Nodes are what bring eclipses. The eclipse dates for 2026 are as follows:

  • February 17th, 2026 – Partial North Node Solar Eclipse at 28° Aquarius

  • March 3rd, 2026 – Total South Node Lunar Eclipse at 12° Virgo

  • August 13th, 2026 – Total South Node Solar Eclipse at 20° Leo

  • August 28th, 2026 – Partial North Node Lunar Eclipse at 4° Pisces

If you have personal planets or angles at the degree of the eclipse that particular eclipse will be especially relevant.

Mercury Retrogrades in Water Signs

All of the Mercury retrogrades in 2026 are occurring in the 3 water signs – Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. Here are the dates:

  • February 26 - March 21 in Pisces

  • June 30 - July 24 in Cancer

  • October 24 - November 14 in Scorpio

Mercury retrograding in the water signs will ask us to reflect on our emotional landscapes: how we express our feelings and share our vulnerabilities. It will help us strengthen our intuition and rely less on logic, and also bring up emotional connections or patterns from the past. These will be revealing and healing times!

Those with strong water placements will be particularly influenced if they’re within the retrograde degrees.

2026 is going to be a year we remember. It will make history, and stay with us for a long time to come. how the year will unfold for you is best explored through your solar return chart. you can learn about solar return charts here, or book a private consultation/reading here.
