The Astrology Of 2025
a new era begins
2025 is an important and unique year in that every single outer planet will be entering a new sign!
I wanted to share some insight into the astrology of the new year, looking at the major transits and what we can expect of them. This truly will be a year of change, but 2025 is a year that we’re using to prepare for 2026 when things really begin to shift.
jupiter
Jupiter will still be in Gemini until June 10 2025. Jupiter is also retrograde until the first week of February, so when Jupiter does station direct you might notice a second wave of opportunities in the Gemini-ruled house of your birth chart. You might experience a fresh perspective, or you might have some greater knowledge around the themes of your Gemini-ruled house. The sense of expansion and a desire to learn more is going to shift into the Cancer-ruled house of your birth chart from June 10th, and in general we could see and emphasis on our home, family and private life.
your cancer house
Everyone has a house in their chart ruled by Cancer - and this is. an area of your life you will want to pay attention to in 2025! Mars is still retrograde as we enter 2025 and will station direct in late February. It is around that time that you may feel like you have more energy, more ambition, and a better sense of direction in your cancer-ruled house. The start of the year is likely to feel very stagnant, slow, or frustrating in that area of your life. But then as the year progresses and Jupiter moves into cancer it will actually feel very abundant, and will be an area of major growth, so my advice is to actually use the energy of the Mars retrograde to support that! Then we Jupiter comes into that house and blesses it, you’ll have done the hard work and be set up for all the blessings!
saturn
Saturn is entering its third year of being in Pisces - and personally I'm looking forward to its shift into Aries on May 26 2025 as it will finally leave my 10th house of career and ambition. However it's not permanently going to stay in Aries as it will retrograde back into Pisces early September. But we basically get a three month period to preview the themes that will unfold from 2026 to 2028 when Saturn returns to Aries. A whole new area of your life will be under Saturns influence while in Aries, asking you to take on greater responsibilities, cultivate more self-discipline and perhaps experience some growing pains as you master lessons - and yourself.
Uranus Neptune and Pluto are outer planets so we won't feel the impact as obviously as the other planets. but it is still a new area of our life that will be activated by their presence so let’s continue…
uranus
Uranus will be moving into Gemini on 7 July but will only be staying there until early November. Again we will get a sneak peak of the themes we can expect to unravel in 2026 and beyond, when Uranus is in our Gemini-ruled house for that 4 month preview. Uranus is all about individuality and craves freedom so he will be activating a new part of your life, bringing in some shocking or unexpected changes that could lead you to greater acceptance of who you truly are. Wherever Uranus is, we never know what to expect. Stay open to change!
neptune
Neptune is also going to be leaving Pisces and moving into Aries on March 30. It's been in Pisces since 2012! Like Saturn, it's shift into Aries is not permanent, but it will stay there until late October 2025. Saturn and Neptune will be in a close conjunction in areas throughout all of June, July and August, and these planets are quite a contrast in their energy! Saturn is trying to build a new structures in your Aries-ruled house but Neptune is asking you to dissolve and clear old patterns in the same area. Considering the eclipses of the last year or two have been activating your Aries house already, there is still some major changes and restructuring going on in that part of your life!
pluto
Pluto fully moved into Aquarius at the end of 2024, so 2025 is the first year it will be entirely in that sign. I've covered Pluto in previous posts here and on Instagram so I won't go over it again but we can expect some kind of rebirth and regeneration in our Aquarius houses.
Uranus and Pluto will be trining each other throughout 2025 so there's going to be a link in themes from those parts of your chart, but in a positive way as trines are supportive aspects. So definitely check the Gemini and Aquarius house as of your birth chart and consider how they are interacting or linking up throughout the year.
the lunar nodes
I have to also mention how the Lunar Nodes shift onto the Virgo Pisces axis for 2025. We will get one final Aries solar eclipse on 29 March, and it is around this time that you may notice a significant development occur in your Aries-ruled house. Really this is mostly for people who have cardinal sign placements around 9º Aries. Then, the north node moves into Pisces in the south node will be in Virgo for the next year and a half, so collectively we are shifting towards a more compassionate, spiritual and creative way of being and wanting to find deeper soul aligned meaning in all that we're doing. Because Saturn and Neptune have been in Pisces there likely has been some stress in this area (your Pisces house) of your life, and now with the eclipses happening here they may bring about greater change and developments - particularly if you have personal planets or angles in Pisces or Virgo. In particular, take note of any major endings and beginnings around March and September 2025, especially if you are a Pisces or Virgo sun, moon or rising (or have angles in these signs, like me!).
mercury retrograde
And finally I just want to talk about the mercury retrogrades. There will be three in 2025, in both the fire and water signs. We will have a mercury retrograde in March (Aries/Pisces), another one in July and August (in Leo), and then a final one in November (across Sagittarius and Scorpio). This is a great chance to make final adjustments in the houses ruled by fire signs in your birth chart, as Mercury was asking you to re-work these areas all of 2024.
