the pisces eclipse 2025

On Monday 8th September 2025 at 4:09am we have a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse n Pisces. This is a total lunar eclipse which means it’s intense – VERY intense.

It’s also a North Node Eclipse. Both North and South Node eclipses are connected with our life purpose, but there’s a subtle difference: while South Node eclipses are more about releasing old patterns and karma, North Node eclipses are about creating new possibilities that are aligned with your soul’s desired path.

Lunar eclipses are when we experience more immediate, visible and tangible changes and results. Sometimes they are instant, other times they unfold slower over the eclipse cycle. So it could be that things have been building up since 2024 in the part of your life where the Pisces/Virgo axis is in your chart, and now bigger shifts and changes are finally occurring.

This is the second of three Pisces eclipses happening between 2024-2026.

The first Pisces eclipse took place last year on September 18, so you may want to reflect back on what was changing or demanding more of your attention in your life at that time. Particularly around the themes of the Pisces ruled house of your chart. Now, a new chapter might be unfolding around the same topics over the next several weeks.

Pisces is a mutable water sign full of compassion, emotional depth, and creativity. It is intuitive, gentle and quite sensitive. Pisces likes to ebb and flow and this eclipse will push you to release perfectionism and embrace flow, and it will also challenge you to balance logic with intuition.

The ruling planet of this eclipse is Jupiter, which is currently exalted in the sign of Cancer.

This is my favourite part of the whole eclipse! The eclipse ruler is in a much better position to bring about positive and productive results than it was last September, when it was in it’s sign of detrimemt, Gemini.

With Jupiter at 19º Cancer trining the Moon, this really warms and sweetens ups the eclipse. Your emotions (Moon) may be bigger, lighter, and more optimistic (Jupiter) but it’s more of a “everything is going to work out” kind of vibe. It’s a hopeful energy, and a reminder of how sweet life really is. The trine may bring opportunities for fated blessings and life-changing growth. The Moon is in Pisces though, so if you want to reap the rewards of this blessed aspect you must be willing to surrender control and step into the unknown.

Pay attention to the themes associated with your Cancer ruled house as this may help you navigate the Pisces eclipse and is likely where you will feel this sweet energy, or notice new opportunities. It’s very likely you’ll notice a link between the Cancer and Pisces ruled houses of your chart.

Also involved in this eclipse is Mercury.

At 10º Virgo, Mercury is opposing the Moon and now the heart and the head sit on opposite ends of the table. This aspect isn’t as soft as the Moon Jupiter trine. Here it’s emotions and instincts vs logic and analytical thinking. With eclipses bringing tangible changes and events, Mercury will pop up to ask “But are you sure? Have you thought about xyz?” Mercury likes to think of the details. Not because he wants to be a party pooper, but because sometimes we get caught up in what’s happening that we overlook the fine print. He just wants to make sure you’re fully aware of the details, and to arm you with the information you need to move forward. Otherwise, at the next Virgo/Pisces eclipses your mistake of overlooking things can come back to haunt you. Because of this opposition, you might feel some difficulty expressing your feelings clearly. You might speak from the heart, but not feel like you’re heard. And opportunities, changes or decision-making around the time of the eclipse may feel like an argument between “what makes sense” and “what feels right.”

Eclipses ARE a big deal. But not all of us will feel each of them with the same intensity. If you have personal planets or angles in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces), you’re going to feel this one big time.

Never the less, the eclipse will still be highlighting two main areas of our lives, depending on your rising sign.

For example, if you’re a Gemini rising, your 10th house of career and life calling will be highlighted, along with your 2nd house of income, which ties the 2 themes of career and money together. A pivot or major progress in your already-established career is possible. Big breakthroughs and opportunities for leadership within your career is also likely to occur, and you could be receiving a boost to your income, getting a pay raise, or being recognised as the asset you are (and being paid more for it!).

Detailed horoscopes for each of the signs are now live in the 11th House Community.
